The 'Dear Progressive Hearts' Wellness Journal

Discovering, embracing and utilising the beauty, worth and strength that is found in becoming has been the mandate of the Work In Progress blog and the movement that Pretty Conscience stands by. I have held this commission so dearly to the core of my existence, that I stared to feel as though I was becoming a 'pro' at being a soul under construction. Yet, you can always count on this movie called life to throw in a couple of plot twists that will have you clutching at your pearls, or even changing the genre of the movie from a thriller where you were the hero/heroine, to a comedy special where you are not even awarded the decency of being the jokester, but are made the circus itself. With diverse acts, metaphorically inclusive but not exhaustive of clowns, trained performance animals, acrobats, magicians and stunt-oriented artists, all putting on a show at your expense, it not only starts to look chaotic but attaching purpose to the pandemonium seems like a far stretch.

However, committing to the heart of being 'work in progress' has encouraged me to restructure and pivot as much as I need to. Some call it 'getting our lives back on track for the sixth time that week' and all I say is where do I put my signature. The product looks glamorous but the process is often gritty, as one navigates bouts of shame, pain, discouragement, sadness, regret and confusion.

From my own circus has come the 'Dear Progressive Hearts' wellness journal, which is a series of love letters from my becoming heart to yours. This is for the Progressive Hearts that have:

~Struggled with performance related love

~Struggled with trusting their  voice and discerning their needs

~Known better but not always done better

~Recently realised that there is better and are walking out the slippery slope of transition

~Found themselves uncovering and discovering themselves again when they thought they had mastered the craft

~Felt unsure of what the grand future image is and are approaching their healing journey in doses

It is my heart's hope and prayer that as you read this, you would:

~Find language to what you have always felt

~Have the words strike cords in your soul that render it a safe space to exist in

~Shed tears that cleanse and do not cumber your soul

~Laugh without fear and reflect without judgement

~Feel empowered to try again, start afresh or progress with your journey at hand
